The IRS has released the Health Savings Account (HSA) and High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) limits for 2022. These limits will go into effect on January 1, 2022.

  • Individual: The HSA limit increased to $3,650 (up $50 from $3,600 in 2021).

  • Family: The HSA limit increased to $7,300 (up $100 from $7,200 in 2021).

  • 55 & Older: Those over age 55 can continue to contribute an extra $1,000 per year.

Remember, you can only contribute to an HSA if you're in a qualified high-deductible health plan. In 2022, the minimum annual deductible for HDHPs has not changed - $1,400 for an individual and $2,800 for a family.
